Another winner of this summer would be this envelope sent by FinnBadger (the USA), from UN territory in New York.
This was his second attempt to send me the World Poetry Day stamps. The first time he sent them to Morocco, but that letter never arrived (it wasn't returned neither - ?!). So I was really happy to get this, finally!
As the sender explains: The UN has 6 official languages, and each of the sheets features a poem written in each one: English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Russian and Arabic. The only other language to feature on the stamps is German (on the ones issued in Vienna).
I am sorry because the pictures I took are a bit blurry. But you can see the complete sheets in FinnBadger's post.

Wow..je savais pas qu'il y a des timbres d'UN
ReplyDeleteOui. On peut les envoyer depuis New York, Vienna et Genève.
DeleteSo nice that this worked this time - and that the envelope received personal attention with hand-cancelled stamps. Looks like it travelled really well, too.
ReplyDeleteIt travelled perfectly. I took the pictures in Spain (where I left this envelope), and then I realised they aren't as good as it deserve. But it is in perfect condition, and the stamps are superb. So one thousand thanks again!
DeleteOh wow, these are marvelous stamps!!!
ReplyDeleteIdeal for you as a language lover :-)
I bet you can decipher the texts of at least four of these stamps :-)
That's exactly what Phillip wrote... :D
DeleteThese stamps are a treasure.
