Netherlands

Beautifully decorated envelope sent by Heleen (the Netherlands). The stamps and the map on the match with the content.

I added the stamps to that post, since they belong to the same series and show tall buildings. By the way... have you noticed more fingerprints?!?

  1. Another great sending from Heleen. I am wondering what the story is behind the fingerprints.

  2. Thank you for posting! I just now see that there is a mouse (and a cat) in the fingerprint above of tje stamp :-)

The fingerprint refers to the nickname of people from Zwolle: blauwvingers (blue-fingers). There seem to be various stories about the origine of this nickname, one of them you can read in the (English) wikipedia about Zwolle.

    2. Very helpful! And thanks for drawing attention to the little details within the fingerprints. I love how many PostNL stamps have extras in the selvage, more than any other postal service, I think.

    3. I agree that the Dutch stamps are incredibly detailed. That makes them very entertaining. But, sometimes, also difficult to understand!
