Europa Stamps

EUROPA stamps are special stamps issued by European postal administrations/enterprises and bears the official EUROPA logo, started back in 1956.

Every year PostEurop hold the EUROPA Stamp Competition. This is an online event where everyone can vote for their favourite design (there is also a Jury competition in which the best design is choses by philatelic experts). The theme for the competition this year is Music. You can see the 2014 stamps and vote here. You have until 31 August to vote.

  1. Music is a nice theme! It's a pleasure to see all instruments from alle countries, thank you for sharing that link!
And I learned from that: I thought that it was coincidentally that my country has issued a stamp of the 'orgel' (street organ), but by your blog I learned that it was no coincidence :-) And by searching for the translation of 'street organ', I learned that the larger one indeed is typically Dutch!

    1. I knew you would love this theme. There are really beautiful stamps this year, it's hard to choose just one.

  2. The UK entries are usually poor but it looks as if they aren't even taking part this year.

    1. I haven't realised that the UK isn't in the competition. I'm not particularly proud of the Spanish stamp. I usually don't like very much Spanish stamps (too serious and not really artistic).
