#AtoZChallenge | S is for Superlambanana

The Superlambanana & Mersey Ferry on a postcard sent by John (the UK).

Superlambanana is a bright yellow sculpture located in Liverpool (the UK), Weighing almost eight tons and standing at 17 feet tall, it is intended to be a cross between a banana and a lamb and was designed by Japanese artist Taro Chiezo. In 2008, as part of Liverpool's year-long position as European Capital of Culture, 125 individually designed miniature replicas were created.

I wonder... What do the Superlambananas eat?

  1. That is an original 'S'!
I had thought of smurfs, but a superlambanana is great, too!

I think the superlambanana does not eat part of him/herself but he/she 'eats' a nice view and air.

    1. Because this isn't the big yellow original, but one of the miniature replicas. These were individually designed and each one is different.

  5. Cette œuvre de Taro Chiezo me fait penser à un savant mélange de Gustav Klimt et de Niki de Saint Phalle !

  6. What an interesting statue. I don't know what it eats, but I find myself wanting to sing, "Banana-fana fo famba..."

  8. The coolest S I've come across ever! I visited Liverpool three years ago...didn't spot him. Shame!
Bananas and lamb are off the menu I reckon---or we'll be treading into cannibal territory. No?

    1. I was in Liverpool in 2012, and I saw some of them. But not the big, original one, alas.

  11. Interesting! I was still in the UK when that was built but I don't remember hearing anything about it. If I ever go back to the UK I'll go and check it out. :D

    (I can't believe there's only 1 more week of A-Z to go!)

    1. I guess they are still there. At least, some of them.

  12. Perhaps they find Mini-sheep-peels appealing. :)

  13. I have never thought about what they might eat but I suspect they might snaffle a pigeon or a seagull when they land on their noses!

    1. I have the magnet you sent me on the fridge... it doesn't seem to eat anything from there!
