Let's Talk Loneliness |
A postmark for The New Normal...
South Carolina Morning, 1955 |
...And a couple of Edward Hopper on paintings which reflects also the New Normal, with all those "Stay-at-Home" activities and times.
New York Interior, 1921 |
Postcards sent by Bryon (the USA).
I imagine the pandemic is quite tough for people who live alone.
ReplyDeleteYes. Still less people to talk to.
DeleteI saw a bit of the advert for Let's Talk Loneliness - didn't mention letters.
ReplyDeleteLetters are better than phone calls, for you might be in the bathroom or eating or otherwise engaged.
You can't reproduce a phone call, but you can read a letter again and again.
DeleteWe're still working from home, though a few people (15 to 20) who cannot work at home or who are too lonely, are allowed to work in the office now.
ReplyDeleteEdward Hopper's paintings are so beautiful! In March to May the atmosphere in our streets looked very much like the atmosphere in Hopper's paintings, however little by little the streets are filled again - and I must say I miss the serene quietness (especially now that the amount of motorized traffic almost has 'normalized'...)
I really miss that silence too. Now, especially on Saturday, it's too crowded. So I really don't feel like going anywhere.
