Women on Stamps | O for Oranien

Louise Henrietta of Nassau (1627 – 1667) was a Countess of Nassau, granddaughter of William I, Prince of Orange, "William the Silent", and an Electress of Brandenburg.

This stamp belongs to the series Women in Germany history.

  1. William the Silent is always a name that amuses me but it was a case of deeds not words.

  2. I've seen this stamp dozens of times (in my earlier mail) but never really got to research the name behind it.

William the Silent sparks enough curiosity :)
