Go to Sunday Stamps to enjoy more O-stamps.
William the Silent is always a name that amuses me but it was a case of deeds not words.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what he did to deserve that name...
DeleteI've seen this stamp dozens of times (in my earlier mail) but never really got to research the name behind it.
ReplyDeleteWilliam the Silent sparks enough curiosity :)
I didn't know it was so common. Well, I dont get a lot of mail from Germany.
Delete"Electress of Brandenburg" intrigued me, not being familiar with that term.
ReplyDeleteSeems she was quite the influential woman!
I also was intrigued by that title, and had to look up the meaning.
DeleteYou are doing a great job of highlighting women that I have never heard of in your series.
ReplyDeleteMost of these woman were unknown to me when I started this Women on Stamps project. But I like to discover them little by little!
