The theme for this week in
Sunday Stamps is
Geology or Landscapes. Happily Viridian offered this alternative. Because I have realised that stamps about geology are quite common around the world. However, I have received just one so far!
Anyway, I am proud to show it, as I love the theme, its colours and its triangular shape:
The second part to the theme allows me to post some stamps about beautiful, sometimes distant, landscapes. I love the stamps made of a real picture. You can discover more and more details if you look closer to them.

The Netherlands stamp has me foxed - is it a mountain/hill being shown. I had not seen the Morne Mountain stamps before.
ReplyDeleteThe Ukraine stamp is lovely but the landscapes are wonderful. I think the Netherlands one must be a flood control dike.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is. I received this stamp some time ago and now I'm not able to find it again and take a better picture, sorry!
DeleteIndeed, it's a kind of dam / dike (strekdam in Dutch, don't know the correct translation into English), to protect against decline by waves.
DeleteI found a picture of the complete serie on this site - http://tinyurl.com/pqd5w43 . Which is about the Wadden Sea, but this specific dike is more southward, in a lake (the IJsselmeer), close to the city of Lelystad.
You found some beautiful landscapes!
ReplyDeletegreat selection of landscapes! but i am especially happy to see a mineral stamp :)
ReplyDeleteI love the dragonfly flying across the river on the Russian stamp. A great selection of stamps.
ReplyDeleteMust say you have some beautiful stamps there.
ReplyDeleteI love the waterfalls of AU and NZ (waterfalls are a personal favourite!)
ReplyDeleteand Lithuania has some lovely landscape stamps.
I love the mineral stamp!!

The Ukrainan mineral stamp is great! And it's a joy to see your collection of landscapes - so many different ones, so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe one from Russia is really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Stamp
Nice stamps! I like this trianglage ukraine stamp. This one from Germany is part of 4 different stamps with landscapes taken in 4 seasons of year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment and information. The stamps I upload have been received trough the snail mail. I mean I'm not exactly a stamps collector. So sometimes I miss some information... :) But I should say that I learn a lot trough "Sunday Stamps".
DeleteBy the way, you run an interesting blog!
